I first saw Hepu pearls through her eyes. And I realized: the world knows Tahiti, knows Japan’s Akoya, but almost no one knows the luminous white South Sea pearls that come from her hometown.
So we decided to change that – together. She selects every pearl, drawing on family knowledge passed down through generations. I handle everything from this website to shipping. We are a small team of two, plus a few trusted farmers in Hepu who still harvest by hand.
My wife grew up in Hepu, a small coastal town in southern China. Her grandfather was a pearl farmer. As a child, she would walk along the oyster rafts at sunrise, watching the harvest boats return with their silver-white treasures.
For her, a pearl is not a luxury item. It is the taste of sea salt on morning wind. It is the quiet pride of a place that has given pearls to emperors and merchants for over 2,000 years – along the old Maritime Silk Road.

How we select moon-white pearls
One pearl at a time, by hand. Not all South Sea white pearls are born equal. We look for three things:
Luster – a mirror-like reflection, the true sign of a mature pearl.
Moon-white body color – no yellowish or grey undertones. Cool, silver-white, like moonlight on still water.
Surface purity – minimal blemishes, because each pearl will be worn close to the skin.
Every pearl we sell comes with an official NGTC or GIA certificate (upon request). No treatments, no coatings – just the ocean soul, captured in a jewel.
